About Us
Sixteen Films is the film production company formed by director Ken Loach and producer Rebecca O'Brien after Parallax Pictures dissolved in 2002. Writer Paul Laverty is the Associate Director and the primary function of the company is to make films written, produced and directed by this team.
Films
Since its formation Sixteen Films has produced four feature films: "Sweet Sixteen", "Ae Fond Kiss", "The Wind that Shakes the Barley" and, launching this autumn, "It's a Free World..."
We have also made the Ken Loach sections of the portmanteau feature film "11'09"01", which featured eleven short films made by different directors from all over the world, and "Tickets", a film in three parts, co-directed by Ermanno Olmi and Abbas Kiarostami.
Archive
The company also owns the rights for the previous films "Sweet Sixteen" and "The Navigators" and looks after the following films made at Parallax Pictures: "Riff-Raff", "Raining Stones", "Ladybird, Ladybird", "Land and Freedom", "Carla's Song", "My Name is Joe", "Bread and Roses" and "Princesa" (directed by Henrique Goldman). We also hold information on Ken Loach's earlier works.

Rebecca O'Brien is currently working as executive producer on "Summer" and also on "Martino Unstrung" a film about world renowned jazz guitarist Pat Martino, directed by Ian Knox. She is also an executive producer on "Jean Charles" written by Marcelo Starobinas and directed by Henrique Goldman.
